A Happy New Year and welcome to 2026. Here at AWCI Australia, we are ready for the year ahead, building on the strong foundations established in 2025.

This year, we continue to consolidate our leadership on occupational licensing, advocating in Victoria, Western Australia, and Tasmania to align with Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales licensing regimes, while engaging nationally on the national harmonisation of trade licensing.

Supporting this work is our industry-led Blue Card, designed to provide learning and development opportunities for workers and plasterers. The Blue Card will not replace formal training; it will act as a skills checkpoint and guide participants toward appropriate learning pathways. We want to hear your thoughts on the blue card, get across it and get involved in our upcoming consultation.
