Is there any reason that the screws do not seem to break through the face paper liner as frequently in the ceiling sheets that we have been installing?

We are receiving plenty of feedback from plastering contractors indicating the same that you are finding. Some Australian plasterboard manufacturers have changed the manufacturing processes, the weight of the board, including a stronger thicker paper face and varied the ingredients.
