When can I use plasterboard in external applications?

Gypsum linings shall not be used where directly exposed to the elements, such as high winds, high humidity, and wind-driven rain.

Notes: Consideration should be given at the design stage to environment conditions, local effects of wind actions and potential corrosion of metal trims. Where gypsum linings are specified for external applications not exposed to the elements, installation should be in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
